Droopiness or sagging of the of the breast is a common legacy of motherhood, nursing and the force of gravity taking their toll, and the effect of pregnancy and a distension of the breasts with milk causes the fibrous bands which support the breasts in their youthful shape to break down and the skin to stretch. With the subsequent shrinking the unsupported breasts settle into the stretched skin and gravity pulls them down. Putting on weight and then losing it can have the same effect. So too does the ageing process, which is why women dislike the appearance of their droopy breasts.

Normally the nipple and areola lie at the mid arm level. However, as the breast sag one may notice that the breasts are below this level. So at some point one may notice that they look unsightly, feel uncomfortable and result in poor body image and self-esteem.
A breast lift restores the breast to a firmer, youthful and aesthetically pleasing shape. This will help to improve the appearance and also help bras, clothes and swimsuits fit more comfortably and attractively. By removing excess, stretched out skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and raising the nipple and areola to a more forward position a cosmetic surgeon can create a more youthful breast contour. Stretched, large areola can be reduced during breast lift surgery, creating an overall better proportioned, natural looking breast.

Common reasons why women under go breast lift

To restore better breast shape following pregnancy and breast feeding. Pregnancy can bring some unwelcome changes to the breasts, often leaving them stretched and sagging. A breast lift, with or without implants, can help undo these changes and restore a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
To improve the shape of the breast following weight loss. Losing weight often means losing breast volume. A breast lift can help restore a more proportional, youthful breast shape by removing excess skin.
To enjoy normal perky breast shape for the first time. A small but growing number of breast lift patients have had drooping breasts since their teens. Breast lift surgery can help a woman get the breast profile she always wanted.
